Regular fuel grade gasoline is available daily at the floating dock and at the roadway.
We pride ourselves on keeping fresh gasoline stocked at all times. This is not an easy task with the mix of commercial and recreational boats at Money Island. Our local supplier, Woodruff Energy, delivers fuel in small quantities from Bridgeton, usually weekly, to ensure that fuel is fresh. We are pleased to be the fuel provider used locally by the U.S. Coast Guard, Rutgers University, and the State of New Jersey.
HOURS: Regular hours are 6 am - 6 pm daily. If you need fuel outside of these hours, please call.
FUEL ADDITIVES: Marine engine manufacturers recommend the addition of fuel additive in every tank of gasoline. We sell different varieties of fuel additive and strongly urge boaters to use these with every tank to ensure that you keep operating smoothly.
SAFETY: Safety precautions are posted near the pump and must be followed without exception.
PRICING: Gasoline price at the marina is typically $1.00 per gallon higher than at local gas stations. This is due to the high cost of new equipment, compliance with safety measures, taxes and license fees. All of these costs are spread among the relatively small amount of fuel that a small marina distributes.
CREDIT CARDS: We charge a 4% surcharge for credit card payments which is less than our cost to provide this convenience to customers.
CAPACITY: We have the capacity for 2,000 gallons but typically keep less than 300 gallons on hand to ensure that fuel is fresh.
EQUIPMENT: Our fuel delivery system was upgraded in 2013. It is the only local marina fuel supply system replaced after super storm Sandy. It meets all current safety requirements. We pay the State of New Jersey to inspect both the dispensing meter (for accuracy) and the fuel system (for safety) every year.
RATIONING: Although it hasn't happened yet, we reserve the right to limit fuel sales quantity to allocate enough for immediate anticipated customers in the event that our supply runs low before a new shipment can be delivered.
LARGE QUANTITIES AND RESERVES: If you need a large quantity of fuel, please call ahead. Also, we are willing to contract in advance for gasoline. For example, if you want to have a standing reservation for 50 gallons of fuel at all times, we can be sure to keep that as agreed.
PERIODS OF EMERGENCY: During periods of emergency we may be able to pump gasoline with a hand crank pump even in the event of an electricity outage. The price will be higher to pay for the hand pump and the work required to pump it. This is not 'price gouging' during an emergency but rather our attempt to provide a legitimate solution to accommodate emergency conditions.
DIESEL FUEL: We do not currently offer diesel fuel but would add this in the future if customers request it.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN: The marina staff has been trained in the best practices promoted through New Jersey's Clean Marina Program sponsored by SeaGrant. These procedures focus on preventing fuel spills and the procedures to handle spills if they occir.
Marinas and waterways are inherently dangerous. Exercise caution and always keep safety as your first priority. Enjoy our facilities at your own risk.
